Frequently Asked Questions

At Refined Clinic, we believe in transparency, education, and client comfort. Below are some of the most common questions we receive. If you still have queries, feel free to book a complimentary consultation — we’re always happy to guide you.

General

Do I need a consultation before treatment?
Yes. All new clients require a consultation so we can assess your concerns, medical history, and goals. It’s completely obligation-free and can be done in person or via FaceTime.

How do I know which treatment is right for me?
That’s exactly what the consultation is for. We’ll explore your skin and wellness concerns, then design a treatment plan tailored to you — sometimes combining multiple modalities for the best results.

Are treatments safe?
Yes — all our treatments are performed by qualified professionals using evidence-based techniques and TGA-approved products. Your safety and natural-looking results are always our top priority.

Is there downtime after treatment?
This varies by treatment. Some treatments, like LED, have no downtime at all. Others, like PRF or skin needling, may involve mild redness, swelling, or light flaking for 24–72 hours. We’ll give you tailored aftercare guidance.

Medical Aesthetic Treatments

What areas can be treated with wrinkle-reducing therapies?
Most commonly, we treat the frown lines, forehead, crow’s feet, TMJ muscle, chin, and neck bands — always after a full consultation and assessment.

Will I look ‘overdone’?
Absolutely not. At Refined, we specialise in natural, balanced results that enhance — not change — your appearance. Less is often more.

How long do results last?
Most treatments last between 3–6 months, depending on the area treated and your individual response.

LED Light Therapy (Healite II)

What does LED therapy do?
Healite II uses specific wavelengths of light to stimulate collagen, calm inflammation, accelerate healing, and support skin rejuvenation — all without heat or pain.

Is it suitable for all skin types?
Yes! LED is safe for all skin tones and is even safe during pregnancy (yellow light only).

Can I add LED to other treatments?
Absolutely — it pairs beautifully with PRF, skin needling, or after any restorative skin procedure.

Skin Needling

What does skin needling treat?
Skin needling improves texture, fine lines, acne scarring, pore size, and overall skin firmness by stimulating natural collagen production.

Does it hurt?
We apply a medical-grade numbing cream beforehand to keep you comfortable. Most clients describe it as a mild scratching sensation.

What’s the difference between needling with and without serums?
At Refined, we often layer the treatment with advanced boosters like PRP, stem cells, or Rejuran to deeply hydrate, heal, and enhance your results.

PRP & PRF (Platelet Therapy)

What’s the difference between PRP and PRF?
Both use your own blood to promote collagen and tissue regeneration. PRF contains more growth factors and releases them more slowly, offering a gentler and longer-lasting result.

What areas can be treated?
PRP/PRF can be used under the eyes, on the face, scalp (for hair health), neck, and décolletage.

How many sessions will I need?
We usually recommend a series of 2–3 sessions spaced a few weeks apart for optimal results.

Rejuran

What is Rejuran?
Rejuran is a skin-healing treatment made from polynucleotides (PN) that help repair damaged skin, improve elasticity, and deeply hydrate. It’s especially effective for fine lines, acne scarring, and under-eye rejuvenation.

How is it different from other treatments?
Rejuran works on a cellular level to restore the skin’s structure, rather than simply smoothing from the surface. It’s regenerative, not volumising.

What can I expect post-treatment?
You may have small, raised bumps for 12–24 hours. Mild redness and tightness may also occur. These usually settle quickly.

IV Therapy

How does IV therapy work?
IV therapy delivers a custom blend of vitamins, minerals, and hydration directly into your bloodstream for fast, effective absorption.

What’s in the drips?
Each infusion is tailored to you, but common ingredients include Vitamin C, B-complex, magnesium, zinc, glutathione, and NAD+ — supporting energy, immunity, stress, skin clarity, and more.

How long does it take?
Most IV drips take around 30–45 minutes. You can relax, read, or enjoy LED therapy while you infuse.

Is it safe?
Yes. All infusions are administered by trained professionals and based on your medical history, current health, and goals.
